In order to allow the Council flexibility when awarding the project, <br />and to attempt to keep the project within the recommended cost of $290,000, staff directed the <br />design consultant to structure the bid proposal with a number of "Add Alternate" items that <br />could be awarded should the budget allow. These alternate items would generally enhance the <br />appearance and maintainability of the finished project. The "Add Alternate" items and staff <br />recommendation regarding including these upgrades in the overall project are as follows: <br /> <br />ADD ALTERNATES AND STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br /> SUMMARY Cost STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Al - Provide wood slats and wood $9,000 This work is an integral component of <br />trellis near the door outside the the facility design. As a result, the add alternates are <br />included in the bid on a priority order.
