<br /> <br />46 <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />May 16, 2006 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />City Manager's Office <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR DELUCCHI <br />PARK PUBLIC RESTROOMS, PROJECT NO. 038030 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />That the City Council take the following actions: <br /> <br />I. Review the bids received, and award the contract for construction of <br />the base bid project to the firm of G & G Builders, Inc., for a low bid <br />of$382,959; <br /> <br />2. Award "Add Alternate" items Al through A3, for an additional <br />$17,478; <br /> <br />3. Authorize a project construction contingency in the amount of <br />$37,327 (10%) to be used for any unexpected project costs; <br /> <br />4. Authorize the transfer of $61,914 from the Downtown Specific Plan <br />project (CIP 028006) to meet project costs; and <br /> <br />5. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for this project and <br />a change order deducting $27,164 from the base bid in recognition of <br />the elimination of landscaping services. That work will be completed <br />by City crews utilizing appropriations from the Park Renovation <br />Fund. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Competitive bids have been received for the Delucchi Park Public Restroom <br />Project, and staff is recommending award of the base bid construction <br />contract (and "Add Alternate" bid items Al through A3) to the low bidder, <br />G & G Builders, Inc., in the amount of $382,959 ($437,764 with alternates <br /> <br />SR 06:086 <br />Page I <br />
