Adopt the attached draft resolution that amends certain fees on the
Master Fee Schedule. The subject fees are for water service activations
and reactivations performed after regular business hours (regular hours
are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). The
recommendation is to adjust the fees as follows for implementation as of
July 13,2006:

a. Increase fee for after-hours new water service activation to $85.

b. Increase fees for all delinquent service after-hours activations to $85.

SUMMARY

The City of Pleasanton is currently absorbing the majority of the cost of
turning on water services after regular business hours. These after-hours
activations are done at the special request of water customers. The increase
of these fees to the recommended $85 would cover the cost of this special
service, thereby saving the City of Pleasant on an estimated $6,150 in the next
year.

Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:

BACKGROUND

The Utility Billing Section of Finance charges standard fees for turning on new water services and
for reactivating water services that have been brought current from a delinquent state.
