<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />Dog Park <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas supported including a dog park and believed it was nice for dogs to <br />socialize with other dogs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fox did not believe a dog park would be needed because dogs could be walked <br />off-leash on the Ridge. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts commented that any passive recreation uses in open space could <br />accommodate dogs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pearce supported including a dog park. <br /> <br />Chairperson Arkin supported a dog park and believed that acreage could be found away from <br />children for this use. <br /> <br />The straw vote was 4-1 in favor of adding a dog park. <br /> <br />Equestrian Trails <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas supported equestrian trails. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts believed that sports uses could scare the horses and suggested placing <br />them on the west side ofI-680. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fox agreed with Commissioner Roberts. <br /> <br />Mr. Rasmussen noted that a loop trail around the residential development on the west side could <br />accommodate equestrian trails. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pearce suggested that equestrian trails be connected with pedestrian trails. <br /> <br />Chairperson Arkin supported the equestrian trails. <br /> <br />The straw vote was 3-2 in favor of permitting equestrian trails west of /-680. <br /> <br />Art Master Plan <br /> <br />The Commissioners generally liked the idea of having an art master plan prepared for the <br />Phase II Specific Plan area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fox suggested that the Civic Arts Commission drive this issue with input from the <br />Planning Commission for future preparation. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />April 26, 2006 <br />
