Resolution No. 93-143 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the activities of the League of California Cities towards <br /> restructuring government should be part of the <br /> considerations included in the Legislative Analyst's <br /> proposal. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton supports <br /> generally the resolution of the General Assembly of the <br /> Association of Bay Area Governments in support of <br /> realigning state and local government responsibilities <br /> and funding as recommended by the California Legislative <br /> Analyst, with these additional considerations: <br /> <br /> a. Formation of a committee by the Association of Bay <br /> Area Governments to study the principles and <br /> concepts contained in the Legislative Analyst's <br /> report. <br /> <br /> b. support passage of SB 16. <br /> <br /> c. involvement of local governments in restructuring <br /> and reorganizing efforts. <br /> <br /> d. consideration of the activities of the League of <br /> California Cities towards restructuring government. <br /> <br />Section 2: The State Legislature and the Governor are encouraged <br /> to act immediately on measures to restructure and realign <br /> the state-local relationship in accordance with the <br /> principles contained in the Legislative Analyst's report. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 16, 1993 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner, and Mayor <br /> Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> ATTEST: ~.. <br /> Pegg~/E~idr~C~lerk <br /> <br />Michael H.
