<br /> <br />6C <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />,) <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />May 2, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />REVIEW OF VINEY ARD AVENUE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS <br />BETWEEN BERNAL AVENUE AND LEONA PLACE <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of May 2, 2006: <br /> <br />1. Direct staff to not install landscaping on Sauterne Way. <br /> <br />2. Direct staff to provide for parking on the north side of Vineyard <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The City's engineering consultant, Bellicci and Associates, has prepared <br />construction improvement drawings for the installation of median islands <br />including landscaping, and a street pavement overlay with a sound- <br />attenuating asphalt mix along Vineyard A venue between Bernal A venue <br />and Leona Place. <br /> <br />City staff held a public meeting on March 14, 2006 in order to present the <br />preliminary drawings and sketches for the Vineyard A venue <br />improvements for review and comment. <br /> <br />Staff will be proceeding to complete the design for the project and are <br />seeking direction from the City Council regarding parking on Vineyard <br />Avenue and landscaping on Sauterne Way. <br /> <br />SR 06: 132 <br />Page 1 of5 <br />
