SLOANE <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Lawrence F. Sloane, the firm's founder and President, is a fourth generation <br />cemeterian with a unique blend of experience as a practical, everyday cemetery <br />manager, service in the public sector and as a consultant. <br /> <br />A graduate of Syracuse University, Larry served as administrator and sales <br />manager for Oakwood Cemeteries in Syracuse, New York for eleven years. The <br />company included the historic monumented Oakwood, a turn of the century <br />Garden Cemetery, Morningside and a memorial park, White Chapel. The <br />cemeteries also operated nine religious cemeteries for the Jewish Community in <br />Syracuse. <br /> <br />During this same period, Larry worked for the New York State Senate. His role <br />was as Director of Operations for first the Senate Committee on Corporations, <br />Authorities and Commissions and later the Senate Committee on Insurance. His <br />work for the Senate spanned seven legislative sessions. <br /> <br />In 1981, Larry established his firm and has served the industry as a <br />management, marketing and public affairs consultant for over two decades. He <br />is the former president of the New York State Association of Cemeteries <br />(NYSAC). He has addressed the NYSAC and The International Cemetery and <br />Funeral Association's (I.C.F.A.) Spring and Fall conventions on numerous <br />occasions, as well as many state and regional groups. <br /> <br />Larry served as a member of the I.C.F.A. Government and Legal Affairs <br />Committee and as Chairman of the organizations Committee on State <br />Associations and Legislation. <br /> <br />The firm, under Larry's leadership relocated to Albany, New York from Syracuse <br />in 1984. Committed to this service industry, Larry continues to seek improved <br />and innovative ways to assist his clients in achieving excellence.
