<br />This report recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution approving the <br />application with MTC for Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 funds in the <br />amount of $40,000. <br /> <br />Eligible projects for these funds include: construction and/or engineering of a capital project; <br />to maintain a bikeway that is closed to motorized traffic; for a bicycle safety education <br />program; or, to develop bicycle or pedestrian facilities. The City of Pleasanton Staff Traffic <br />Committee recommends that an application be submitted for the AlUmal Sidewalk and <br />Intersection Ramp Installations Capital Improvement Project. <br /> <br />This is an annual project that is intended to provide a safe walking area for pedestrians. It will <br />improve access to public facilities and commercial locations for the mobility-impaired, as well <br />as improve bicycle access. The City of Pleasanton Public Works Department constructs new <br />sidewalks and intersection ramps at various locations where they do not currently exist. <br />Locations will be selected at a later date following completion of engineering analysis. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />The $40,000 in TDA funds being applied for now will be used to construct new sidewalks and <br />intersection ramps.
