Water O&M Fund reserves are projected to increase by $160,000 to $324,513. A <br />comprehensive rate study is scheduled for the fall of 1993. As part of the study, <br />emphasis will be placed on developing alternative rate structures. <br /> <br />Storm Drain Fund reserves are projected to increase from $0 to $34,000. This fund was <br />created last year to implement the new federally mandated program to reduce pollutants <br />to the bay. The revenue source is an annual assessment fee levied on Pleasanton property <br />owners. <br /> <br />Internal Service Fund reserves will increase by $416,000. Included in this amount are: <br />$284,000 which represents increases in reserves for accrued vacation earned by <br />employees which has not yet been taken; $122,000 for vehicle, equipment and facilities <br />replacement; $75,000 for retirees' insurance; and a decrease of $65,000 in self insurance <br />retention. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL <br /> <br />For the third year in a row, several positions that were previously authorized but are <br />unf~led have been eliminated from the staff'rag list. These positions are an Advanced <br />Planner, a Lead Public Works Inspector, an Assistant Civil Engineer, a Police Records <br />Clerk, and a Building lnspoctor. As positions become vacant they are currently being <br />analyzed to determine if they must be filled immediately. If not, the positions will <br />remain vacant until the revenue and expenditure picture is clearer.
