The efforts have been productive and an extension of the <br />agreement is needed to complete the funding process. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />In late 2005, the City Manager began exploring the possibility of engaging a consultant to assist <br />with obtaining Federal funding for City projects. A number of nearby cities, such as Livermore, <br />have achieved success through arrangements with similar firms. <br /> <br />Russ Reid Company was selected in January 2006. They have been instrumental in helping <br />build some of America's leading nonprofit organizations, including World Vision, Habitat for <br />Humanity, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and S1. Jude Children's Research <br />Hospital, and local municipalities such as the Village of Franklin Park, Illinois, and Nye <br />County, Nevada.
