<br />outdoor recreation areas and facilities. Funds allocated to California are administered by the <br />State Department of Parks and Recreation. During this current funding cycle, approximately <br />$480,000 will be available for Northern California projects. <br /> <br />Deadline for applications is May 1, 2006, and successful projects will be notified regarding <br />actual grant awards in November 2006. Should the City receive a funding allocation, staff <br />proposes to use the grant proceeds for development of Bernal Community Park, Phase 1. The <br />proposed Phase I improvements will develop approximately 13 acres of the site, including three <br />(3) baseball fields (two lighted), a tot lot, parking area, on-site/off-site roadway improvements. a <br />temporary trail, and supporting infrastructure (Le., water and wastewater lines). <br /> <br />As part of the application process, each public agency must provide a resolution from its <br />governing body approving the filing of an application for grant funding. A copy of the proposed <br />Resolution is attached for the Council's review. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no direct fiscal impact with the approval of this resolution.
