Resolution No. 93-102 Page Three WHEREAS, Section 5011 of the Elections Code specifies that the City Council may direct the City Clerk to transmit a copy of the initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure; and WHEREAS, Section 5013 of the Elections Code specifies that the legislative body, or any member or members of the legislative body authorized by that body, may file a written argument for any city measure; and WHEREAS, Section 5014.5 of the Elections Code sets forth the procedures for rebuttal arguments. NOW, THEREFORE', THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the City Council sponsored initiative proposing that the Pleasanton General Plan be amended regarding the Pleasanton Ridgelands Area be placed on the ballot for the November 2, 1993 Special Election, a copy of which Initiative Ordinance is attached to this resolution. The measure shall be designated by letter by the Alameda County Registrar. Section 2: The ballot language shall be as follows: "Shall the Pleasanton General Plan be amended by adopting the 'Pleasanton Ridgelands Area Plan' which authorizes Pleasanton to coordinate land use planning of the Plan Area with Hayward and Alameda County? Yes No " Section 3: The City Clerk is directed to transmit the initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an'impartial analysis to be placed on the ballot. Section 4: The City Council authorizes arguments for the initiative to be filed by Mayor Tarver, Councilmember Dennis and Councilmember Pico. Said argument must be submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m., on August 16, 1993. Section 5: The City Council hereby adopts the procedures set forth in Sections 5014.5 of the Elections Code regarding submission of rebuttal arguments.
