Resolution No. 93-102 <br />Page Three <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 5011 of the Elections Code specifies that the <br /> City Council may direct the City Clerk to transmit a copy <br /> of the initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an <br /> impartial analysis of the measure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 5013 of the Elections Code specifies that the <br /> legislative body, or any member or members of the <br /> legislative body authorized by that body, may file a <br /> written argument for any city measure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 5014.5 of the Elections Code sets forth the <br /> procedures for rebuttal arguments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE', THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: That the City Council sponsored initiative proposing <br /> that the Pleasanton General Plan be amended regarding the <br /> Pleasanton Ridgelands Area be placed on the ballot for <br /> the November 2, 1993 Special Election, a copy of which <br /> Initiative Ordinance is attached to this resolution. The <br /> measure shall be designated by letter by the Alameda <br /> County Registrar. <br /> <br />Section 2: The ballot language shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> "Shall the Pleasanton General Plan be amended <br /> by adopting the 'Pleasanton Ridgelands Area <br /> Plan' which authorizes Pleasanton to <br /> coordinate land use planning of the Plan Area <br /> with Hayward and Alameda County? <br /> <br /> Yes No " <br /> <br />Section 3: The City Clerk is directed to transmit the initiative <br /> to the City Attorney to prepare an'impartial analysis to <br /> be placed on the ballot. <br /> <br />Section 4: The City Council authorizes arguments for the <br /> initiative to be filed by Mayor Tarver, Councilmember <br /> Dennis and Councilmember Pico. Said argument must be <br /> submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m., on <br /> August 16, 1993. <br /> <br />Section 5: The City Council hereby adopts the procedures set <br /> forth in Sections 5014.5 of the Elections Code regarding <br /> submission of rebuttal arguments. <br /> <br /> <br />
