/' 6E '- ~ pLEASANTONo City Council Staff Report April 4, 2006 Housing Division SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF ALLOCATION OF FEDERAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (HOME) FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006 (2006-07) HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Allocate $43.134 in funds for public services to six agencies and $115.400 for capital projects to two agencies. In addition, as a supplemental recommendation, the HSC recommended that the Council consider allocating the funds normally reserved for CDBG program administration ($57.513 for FY 2006) to fund three additional capital projects. The HSC's recommendation is summarized in the attached Table A. HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Allocate the remaining $71.516 in FY 2006 CDBG funds for capital and rehabilitation projects to four agencies, and allocate $66.500 from the City's Lower Income Housing Fund to two agencies to provide housing services. The HC's recommendation is also summarized in Table A. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the attached draft resolution (Attachment I) to approve the allocation of CDBG funds for FY 2006 and tentative second-year allocations for FY 2007 to two projects as listed in the attached Table A to Attachment I, and to authorize the City Manager to enter into contracts with subrecipients for FY 2006 funding and to take all other necessary actions to carry out the CDBG program for FY 2006. SUMMARY: Pleasanton will receive $287,563 ($186,916 for capital projects, $43,134 for public services, and $57,513 for administration) in CDBG funds for FY 2006 (2006/07).
