<br /> <br />4K <br /> <br />- I~ <br /> <br />pL EASANTONo <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />April 4, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF THE STREET LIGHT <br />AND PATHWAY LIGHT MAINTENANCE CONTRACT <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at <br />the meeting of April 4, 2006: <br /> <br />1. Review the proposals received and award the Street Light and <br />Pathway Light Maintenance Contract to Vista Universal Inc. as <br />the lowest qualified bidder. <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the contract. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the Director of Public Works to review and approve <br />extra work and possible contract extensions per the provisions <br />of the Contract. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The City currently maintains over 7,000 street light and park <br />pathway lights within the City of Pleasanton. Routine maintenance <br />and emergency repair of these lights is performed by an outside <br />contractor. Staff solicited proposals for a new Street Light and <br />Pathway Light Maintenance Contractor and received three <br />proposals. Vista Universal Inc. submitted the lowest qualified <br />proposal for a monthly amount of $9,660.00. <br /> <br />Vista Universal Inc. is a well-established street light maintenance <br />company that has been in business in the Bay Area for over 30 <br />years. Vista Universal currently maintains street lights for several <br />local agencies and is the City of Pleasanton's current street light <br /> <br />SR 06:098 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
