maintaining a pavement management system and performing associated tasks aimed at improving the pavement management practices for the Bay Area jurisdictions. On February 1, 2006, the City of Pleasanton received a proposal from MACTEC to perform work under P- T AP Round 7. Under this proposal, MACTEC will perform a visual pavement condition survey of approximately 60 centerline miles of street pavement (30% of the City's street network) a data entry for new streets added since the last survey and perform a Budget Option Report for the total lump sum amount of $20,500 (the limit of P-TAP Round 7 grant funding available to Pleasanton). To complete the remaining 70% of the City's street network, an additional contract between the City and MACTEC is needed. MACTEC's proposal to perform a visual pavement condition survey of the remaining 134-centerline miles and other related work for a lump sum amount is $27,000. Staff has reviewed the proposals from MACTEC. MACTEC's past experience and performance have been verified by both the City and MTC (through its competitive selection process), to be satisfactory. MACTEC is currently providing similar services to four other jurisdictions in the Bay Area. Staff has determined that MACTEC's proposals and past performance meet the City's needs and requirements. Therefore, staff recommends the City enter into the attached contract with MACTEC to provide the City-wide pavement condition survey, in addition to providing the necessary $2,351.35 in local match funding for the P-TAP grant.
