• Resolving disputes equitably to ensure that
your project is completed without
unresolved claims or litigation.
• Keeping ahead of key issues that tend to
delay final project completion, such as
permit requirements, interface between
contractors, testing, O &M Manuals, and
record drawings.
• Continuing open communication with the
City, regulatory agencies and contractors.
• Anticipating problems/change in conditions
and presenting clear solution(s) to the City
in a timely manner.
• Responding to community concerns.
Communication
Our Construction
Manager and on -site
inspector will serve
as representatives
and team members of
the City. We will
maintain regular
communication with
the City, surrounding
community, and construction contractor. As
indicated previously, Bijan Daneshmand, as
Construction Manager, will be the single point
of contact for all elements of project status. He
will conduct regularly scheduled project
meetings, maintain project documentation files,
submittal logs, RFI logs, and coordinate field
inspection and office engineering staff. He will
be able to quickly and accurately up -date City
staff on project status and issues at any time
during the project.
Construction Procedures Manual
One of the keys to Tetra Tech's success on
similar projects is the preparation of a
Construction Procedures Manual for all
construction management assignments. The
manual describes management and
administration procedures, such as lines of
communication, submittals, project forms to be
used, inspection and testing requirements,
City of Pleasanton - Project No. 991435
permits, etc. The manual also describes how all
parties will interact on the project and provides
the contractor with a guideline to follow to
simplify submittal and coordination efforts.
Mr. Daneshmand will work with the City's
Project Manager prior to the initiation of
construction to prepare the construction
procedures manual specifically tailored for this
project. Prior to commencing work, he will
conduct a kick -off meeting with the City's
Project Manager to ensure the construction
procedures manual meets the City's construction
management processes and the project's needs.
Concurrently, Tetra Tech will establish and
implement a program to monitor construction
activities, incorporating the items in our Scope of
Services. Our goal will be to ensure that the
project is constructed in accordance with the
plans and specifications, on time, and under
budget.
Construction Management/Observation
Our team will be involved in construction
observation, weekly meetings, schedule tracking,
reporting and problem solving to keep the
project on schedule and within budget. We will
immediately, whenever possible, resolve issues
that may potentially delay the construction
schedule. Tracking of shop drawings, requests
for information, and change order requests will
ensure prompt resolution of key issues.
Tetra Tech will have an experienced
construction observer at the job site during all
construction activities. Critical construction
areas, such as trenching, bedding, welding, pipe
laying, installation of concrete work, placement
of steel reinforcing, electrical, controls, and the
on -site installation of the tank will be closely
observed to ensure compliance with the plans
and specifications.
Responsiveness to Contractor
Key to avoiding unnecessary contractor claims
and schedule delays is our timely response to
contractor inquiries and execution of the
TETRA TECH INC.
1 -3
