CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 93-72 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION CLARIFYING THE ROLE AND SCOPE OF <br /> THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 16, 1992, the CityCouncil created the Pleasanton <br /> Economic Development Committee to conduct an assessment <br /> of the strengths and weaknesses of Pleasanton to maintain <br /> a positive business climate to: encourage and achieve <br /> completion of the City's long-term general plan as <br /> adopted (or amended) and to provide an ongoing stable <br /> economic base to provide the goods, services and <br /> facilities desired by the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Economic Development Committee made recommendations <br /> to the City Council, one of which called for the <br /> establishment of a standing Economic Development Advisory <br /> Committee; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 15, 1992, the City Council adopted Resolution <br /> No. 92-230 creating the Economic Development Advisory <br /> Committee and set forth its role and scope; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendations of <br /> staff for clarification of the role and scope of the <br /> Committee; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF PLEASANTONRESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />~9_Q~~: The City Council does hereby establish the Economic <br /> Development Advisory Committee which shall serve as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> a. The mission of the Economic Development Advisory <br /> Committee shall be to assess the current and <br /> ongoing business climate in the City of Pleasanton <br /> and to offer suggestions and recommendations to the <br /> City Council intended to maintain a strong economic <br /> development base in the City. <br /> <br /> b. The Committee will focus on general economic <br /> trends, issues and governmental processes in an <br /> attempt to identify opportunities to assist and <br /> promote economic development in the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> <br />
