If the meeting date should <br /> fall on a legal holiday, the Council shall meet at a time and date so <br /> <br /> 2. Adjourned Meetings <br /> <br /> Any meeting of the City Council may be adjourned to a later date, place, <br /> and time provided no adjournment is for a longer period than the next <br /> regularly scheduled meeting. <br /> <br /> 3. S_~cial Meetings <br /> <br /> Special meetings may be called by the Mayor or by a majority of the <br /> Council members. The call for a special meeting must specify the day, <br /> hour, and place and shall specify the subject/subjects to be considered as <br /> required by law. Twenty-four hours notice must be given prior to the <br /> meetings. Only specified matters may be discussed at special meetings. <br /> <br /> 4. Closed Session Meetings <br /> <br /> Closed sessions may be held in accordance with the provisions of the <br /> Brown Act. The purposes for closed session meetings include <br /> consideration of personnel matters, labor relations, matters of public <br /> security, and discussion of litigation. <br /> <br /> Closed sessions shall be scheduled, to the extent possible and appropriate, <br /> immediately preceding or following regular or special Council meetings. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney shall advise the Council on the appropriateness of <br /> closed session meetings. <br /> <br /> 5. StUdy Session C~Vorkshop) Meetings <br /> <br /> The Council may meet informally in Study Sessions or Workshops called <br /> by the Mayor or the ~iiiiii~ majority of ~ Council .'ncm~cra. Study <br /> Sessions shall be held to receive briefings and background information and <br /> hold general discussions on major issues before formal Council action is <br /> required. Study Sessions are open to the public and are meetings for <br /> purposes of the Brown Act.
