Project No. 2B <br /> Isabel Route 84/I-580 Interchange <br /> <br />Lead Agency Caltrans and Livenore <br /> <br />Description This project consists of a new partial-cloverleaf interchange on Isabel <br /> Avenue at 1-580. The ultimate configuration includes a six-lane <br /> overcrossing and signalized off-ramps. It will be ?built in stages. The <br /> project includes the removal of ramps at the adjacent Portola Avenue <br /> interchange and construction of a new roadway connection on the north <br /> side of 1-580 between Portola Avenue and the new interchange. <br /> <br />Cost Estimate $60 million for the 1-580 interchange. (See project 2A for the companion <br /> roadway portion of this project.) <br /> <br />Status A Project Study Report (PSR) for the Isabel Avenue Route 84/1-580 <br /> interchange has been completed and approved by Caltrans; a Project <br /> Report is expected to be initiated soon. <br /> <br />Funding Current funding includes $9.9 million in TEA-21 funds. Partial funding <br /> for this project may be included in the new Alameda County Measure B <br /> sales tax program. No TVTDF funds are included in this portion of the <br /> Route 84 program. (See project 2A for the TVTDF-funded portion of this <br /> project.) <br /> <br />Schedule Construction of the Isabel Avenue Route 84/1-580 interchange is not <br /> scheduled at this time. <br /> <br />Project Need The interchange project would provide direct access to the Isabel <br /> Avenue/Vallecitos Road planned improvements. With the completion of <br /> the interchange, State Route 84 will be able to be relocated from roadways <br /> in downtown Livermore to the planned improved roadways in the <br /> Isabel/Vallecitos corridor. This will improve traffic conditions in the <br /> downtown area and partially relieve traffic conditions in the 1-580 and 1- <br /> 680 corridors. <br /> <br /> lr T ' <br /> <br /> <br />
