7. AdmSnistrative Leave <br /> <br /> On January 1st of each year, each management employee <br /> shall be credited with seven (7) days administrative <br /> leave to be observed during the calendar year. On June <br /> 30th of each year, employees may elect to be paid for up <br /> to 3-1/2 days of said leave. On December 31st of each <br /> year, each employee will be paid for all unused <br /> administrative leave. No administrative leave may be <br /> carried over from one calendar year to the next. <br /> <br /> Management employees hired on January 1st, but prior to <br /> October 1st of any year, shall receive prorated <br /> administrative leave. <br /> <br />7.7 Leaves of Absence <br /> <br />7.7(1) Leaves of Absence Without Pav <br /> <br /> The city manager may grant a management or confidential <br /> employee leave of absence without pay or seniority for <br /> not to exceed three (3) months. No such leave shall be <br /> granted except in writing and uponwritten request of the <br /> employee setting forth the reason therefor. Upon <br /> expiration of a regularly approved leave, the employee <br /> shall be reinstated in the position held at the time <br /> leave was granted. Failure on the part of an employee on <br /> leave to report promptly at its expiration or within a <br /> reasonable time after notice to return to duty shall be <br /> cause for discipline. Department directors may grant <br /> full-time middle management and confidential employees <br /> leave of absence without pay for not to exceed one (1) <br /> calendar week. Such leaves shall be reported to the <br /> personnel director. <br /> <br />7.7(2) Jury Leave <br /> <br /> Management and confidential employees called or required <br /> to serve as a juror shall be entitled to leave from <br /> his/her duties with the city during the period of such <br /> service or while necessarily being present in court as a <br /> result of such call. <br /> <br /> 7.7(3) Military Leave <br /> <br /> Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the <br /> provisions of the law. All employees entitled to <br /> military leave shall give the city manager an opportunity <br /> within the limits of military regulations to determine <br /> when such leave shall be taken. <br /> <br /> - 11 - <br /> <br /> <br />
