Exclusive of normal wear and tear, the City will reimburse <br /> employees for the reasonable repair or replacement of their <br /> personal clothing seriously damaged or destroyed in the perfor- <br /> mance of assigned duties; provided, however, no such reimburse- <br /> ment shall be made if the article(s) of clothing damaged or <br /> destroyed is inappropriate for the work place; damaged or destroyed <br /> as a result of the improper performance of the assigned work; <br /> damaged or destroyed as a result of an industrial injurythe latter <br /> reimbursable under the City's worker'e compensation insurance <br /> program. <br /> <br />16.4 Safety Boot Allowance <br /> <br /> Effective May 1, 1990 the safety boot allowance policy shall be <br /> amended to provide an annual allowance of one hundred dollars <br /> ($100.00). The allowance shall be used for the replacement or <br /> repair of required safety boots. Effective May 1, 1992 the safety <br /> boot allowance for street maintenance division employees shall be <br /> increased an additional one hundred dollars'($100.00) for employees <br /> needing a second pair of safety boots. <br /> <br /> If the City decides not to provide safety boots in lieu of <br /> continuing the present safety boot allowance, the annual safety <br /> boot allowance shall be increased to one hundred and fifteen <br /> dollars ($115.00) for all safety boots purchased on or after May 1, <br /> 1994 with Street division maintenance employees being eligible for <br /> an additional annual allowance of one hundred fifteen dollars <br /> ($115.00) for a purchase of a second pair of boots. <br /> <br />Section 17, Credit Union <br /> <br /> The City shall implement a voluntary payroll deduction option for <br /> those employees who wish to join the City and County Employees <br /> Credit Union for the purpose of transacting business with such City <br /> and County Employees Credit Union. <br /> <br />Section 18. Deferred Compensation Plan <br /> <br /> The City shall implement a deferred compensation plan provided, <br /> however, ten percent (10%) of' the PCEA membership agree to <br /> participate in said plan. If at any time participation in said <br /> plan falls Below ten percent (10%) of the PCEAmembership, the City <br /> may at its discretion, discontinue said plan at the conclusion of <br /> the calendar year following sixty days notice to the PCEA. <br /> <br />Section 19. Educational Incentive Tuition and Book Reimbursement Proqrem <br /> <br />19.1 Educational Incentive <br /> <br /> All regular employees having reached step E of their <br /> classification's pay range are eligible for educational incentive <br /> pay for college degrees earned while employed by the City of <br /> Pleasanton provided the degree is awarded from a community college, <br /> <br /> <br />
