Resolution No. 95-143 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Section 2: Duties of Youth Commission. The Commission's specific duties are: <br /> Identify and report to the Council on youth needs and priorities in the City <br /> of Pleasanton; remain informed regarding the programs providing youth <br /> services to the community. <br /> <br /> Research and formulate proposed policies, programs, and services designed <br /> to meet the needs of the youth community in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Review and evaluate requests received by the City for youth-related <br /> policies and services. <br /> <br /> Represent the City and maintain liaison with youth commissions in other <br /> cities, and with youth-related agencies in Pleasanton and other cities. <br /> <br /> Seelion 3: Membership. <br /> <br /> a. The Youth Commission shall consist of seven (7) members; six <br /> youth and one adult. All commissioners shall be residents of the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> b. The Youth representatives shall be from grades 8 - 12, and shall <br /> include at least one student from Areadot High School, one representative <br /> from Village High School, and one student from Foothill High School. <br /> c. There shall be two youth alternate representatives. The alternate <br /> representatives shall serve as voting members at Commission meetings only <br /> in the absence of a primary voting member. Alternate members may serve <br /> as voting members of any Commission subcommittee. With approval by <br /> the City Council, an alternate member may complete a term of office <br /> vacated by a youth member. <br /> <br /> d. Commission members shall be appointed for two-year terms. <br /> Commissioners may be appointed to two consecutive terms. <br /> <br /> <br />
