CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 95-138 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE AIAMEDA COUNTY <br /> APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FOR THE <br /> TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> PROGRAM UNDER THE INTERMODAL SURFACE <br /> TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT OF 1991 FOR THE <br /> FOLLOWING PROJECT: PLEASANTON RAH~ROAD <br /> ASSOCIATION mSTORIC RAH~ROAD CORRIDOR <br /> PRESERVATION PROJECT ON TfIE~ AIAMEDA COUNTY <br /> TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> BETWEEN TIlE SOUTH SIDE OF BERNAL AVENUE AND <br /> SUNOL BOULEVARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Congress has enacted the Intermoa~al <br /> Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, which is <br /> intended to provide over $200 million in federal dollars over a <br /> six year period as matching funds to local state and federal <br /> agencies and nonprofit entities for transportation <br /> enhancement activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has established the <br /> procedures and criteria for reviewing proposals and is <br /> required to submit to the California Transportation <br /> Commission a list of recommended projects from which the <br /> recipients will be selected; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said procedures and criteria established by the California <br /> Department of Transportation requires a resolution certi&jng <br /> the approval of an application by the applicant's governing <br /> body before submission of said application to the Califomia <br /> Transportation Commission and the State of California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed Historic Railroad Corridor Preservation and <br /> Trail Project is a project believed compatible with the <br /> Pleasanton General Plan and supportive of downtown <br /> Pleasanton; and <br /> <br /> <br />
