accredited by the Western Association of Schools and <br /> Colleges. <br /> Tuition shall be reimbursed in the amount up to, but not <br /> to exceed, the registration fees per college quarter <br /> levied by California State University, Hayward for <br /> internal degrees in effect at the time the employee <br /> enrolled in the course(s) for which the tuition <br /> reimbursement is requested. Eligible fees shall be <br /> limited to: University Fee; Student Body Fee; IRA Fee; <br /> Facility Fee; University Union Fee; Health Services Fee. <br /> Employees completing courses from colleges /universities on <br /> a semester system shall be reimbursed at one and one -half <br /> (1 -1/2) times the equivalent Hayward State University <br /> quarter hour rate. <br /> The maximum fee reimbursement an employee may receive per <br /> fiscal year, whether on a quarter or semester hour basis, <br /> shall not exceed the maximum annual tuition reimbursement <br /> levied by Hayward State University for the four quarter <br /> academic; year beginning with the proceeding fall quarter. <br /> Requests for fee reimbursement shall be submitted at the <br /> completion of each quarter or semester during which the <br /> courses were completed. Requests for reimbursement shall <br /> be accompanied by an official receipt verifying the <br /> tuition charges, the tuition paid, and an official <br /> transcript of grades received. <br /> Section 21. Probationary Period <br /> 21.1 Length of Probationary Period <br /> All original and promotional appointments shall be <br /> tentative and subject to a probationary period of twelve <br /> (12) months actual service except that after serving a <br /> minimum of six months in a probationary status following <br /> promotion an employee whose performance has been evaluated <br /> as excellent may be removed from probationary status. <br /> 21.2 Notification Requirements <br /> A probationary employee shall be notified by the Personnel <br /> Director forty -five (45) days prior to the expiration date <br /> of his /her probationary period. <br /> Within twenty -one (21) days prior to the expiration of <br /> that probationary period, the department head shall file <br /> with the Personnel Director a statement as to whether or <br /> - 23 - <br />
