section 5. ~ssociation Representatives <br /> <br /> City Employees who are official representatives of the <br /> Association shall be given reasonable time off with pay <br /> to attend meetings with management representatives, or to <br /> be present at hearings where matters within the scope of <br /> representation are being considered. The use of official <br /> time for this purpose shall be reasonable and shall not <br /> interfere with the performance of City services as <br /> determined by the City. Such employee representatives <br /> shall submit written requests for excused absences to the <br /> Police Chief, with an information copy to the Personnel <br /> Officer, at least two (2) calendar days prior to the <br /> scheduled meeting whenever possible. No more than two <br /> (2) employees shall be excused for such purposes. The <br /> Association shall submit a list of the officers of the <br /> Association to the City Manager and notify the City <br /> Manager in writing at such time there are any changes in <br /> such Association officers. <br /> <br />Section 6. Salaries <br /> <br />6.1 Rates of Pay <br /> <br /> The salary ranges for all employees in the Police <br /> Employee Unit as set forth below represent, for each <br /> classification, the standard rate of pay for full time <br /> employment 'and represent the total compensation due <br /> employees, except for overtime compensation and other <br /> benefits specifically provided by the City. Effective <br /> April 1, 1995 the base salaries of each classification <br /> shall provide monthly salary ranges as follows: <br /> <br /> Classification Step A Step B Step C Step D SteD E <br /> Police Officer 3752 3941 4140 4358 4571 <br /> <br /> Police Sergeant 4470 4684 4923 5166 5429 <br /> <br /> Effective the first pay period after April 1, 1996, each <br /> represented employee shall receive a one-time, lump sum <br /> salary payment. Said payment shall equal the annual <br /> equivalent of two percent of his/her then current base <br /> monthly salary as shown above, less normal contributions <br /> for state and federal taxes. To be eligible for said <br /> payment the employee must be employed by the city in a <br /> classification represented by the PeA on the date the <br /> payment is made, and have been so employed continuously <br /> since October 1, 1995. <br /> <br /> Effective at the beginning of the first full pay period <br /> on, or after April 1, 1997, the base monthly salary <br /> steps within the salary ranges shown above for the <br /> classifications of police officer, and police sergeant <br /> shall be increased three percent. <br /> <br /> -4- <br /> <br /> <br />
