14.2 Adoption of PERSt Credit for Unused Sick Leave Option <br /> <br /> Upon City Council adoption of this memorandum of <br /> understanding, the City shall proceed to amend its <br /> contract with the Public Employees Retirement System for <br /> the purposes of implementing the PERSt Credit for Unused <br /> Sick Leave Option. Said amendment to be effective as <br /> soon after April 1, 1995 as the contract amendment <br /> process can be completed. <br /> <br />Section 15. Uniforms <br /> <br /> The City shall provide all necessary safety and <br /> protection clothing, as defined by the City Manager. The <br /> City shall provide fifty percent (50%) of the initial <br /> purchase price of uniforms for those employees required <br /> to wear a prescribed uniform. <br /> <br />15.1 Uniform Allowance <br /> <br /> Effective April 1, 1994, the annual uniform allowance <br /> shall be increased to six hundred eighty dollars <br /> ($680.00). <br /> <br />Section 16. Credit Association <br /> <br /> The City shall offer a voluntary payroll deduction option <br /> for those employees who wish to join the City and County <br /> Employees Credit Union for the purposes of transacting <br /> business with such credit union. <br /> <br />Section ~7. Educational Incentive Tuition and Boo~ <br />Reimbursement Proqram <br /> <br />17.1 Educational Incentive <br /> <br /> All regular employees having reached step, E of their <br /> classification's pay range are eligible for educational <br /> incentive pay for possession of a college degree as <br /> specified below: <br /> <br /> Classification Eligible Deqree Incentive Pay <br /> <br /> Police Officer AA 2.5% <br /> BA/BS 5.0% <br /> MS/MA 5.0% <br /> <br /> Police Sergeant BS/BA 5.0% <br /> MS/MA 5.0% <br /> <br /> The employee's degree must be awarded from a community <br /> college, college, or university accredited bythe Western <br /> Association of Schools and Colleges and be in a <br /> recognized academic or professional field as determined <br /> by the Chief of Police.
