The Committee's role in retaining and attracting business is limited to providing general information regarding available resources within the business community and governmental agencies which may be beneficial towards attracting new businesses to the community and/or retaining existing businesses. Unless otherwise directed by the City Council, the Committee shall not engage in any negotiations relative to the relaxation, expansion or modification of any City regulations, fees, or services. d. The Committee shall recommend to the City Council the general types of businesses and/or markets which would be beneficial to the overall economic condition of the City. The City Council shall take this information into consideration when determining active attraction and retention efforts by the Economic Development Manager. Section 2: The Economic Development Advisory Committee shall have a balance of representative(s) from each of the following groups. The members shall serve without compensation. Members shall be reimbursed for appropriate expenses incurred when attending conferences if budgeted and approved by the City Council. 1. Chamber of Commerce - An individual recommended by the Chamber's Executive Board. 2. Business Park - Representative(s) from the owner/management of one of the following business parks: Stoneridge Corporate Plaza, Commerce Circle/Johnson Drive, Pleasanton Park, Signature Center, Hacienda Business Park, Rose Pavilion, Santa Rita Industrial Park, Valley Business Park, Stanley Business Park, Pleasanton Station, and Bernal Corporate Center. 3. Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firm - Representative(s) from a real estate business specializing in commercial sales with an office located in Pleasanton. 4. Stoneridge Mall A representative recommended by the Taubman Company. 5. Downtown Business - Representative(s) from a business located in the city's downtown district and recommended by the Pleasanton Downtown Association.
