INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />General Plan Updates <br /> <br /> Add a new paragraph under paragraph 3 on page I-l, to read as follows: "State general <br /> plan guidelines recommend that comprehensive general plan updates occur at least once <br /> every five years. In addition, the State mandates that housing elements be updated at <br /> least once every five years. The purpose of comprehensive general plan updates is to <br /> re-evaluate all existing text and map provisions, and to address possible new areas of <br /> planning interest. Pleasanton has customarily initiated its updates once every five years <br /> following adoption of the previous plan. Substantial public involvement in the update <br /> process has always been provided." <br /> <br />Historic Background <br /> <br /> Modify page I-4, fifth complete paragraph, sentence 1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Citizen Participation and the Genera] Plan Process <br /> <br /> Add a new paragraph above paragraph 4 on page 1-2, to read as follows: "The former <br /> General Plan was adopted in 1986. This plan was based upon substantial input by an <br /> Industrial Committee consisting of 150 members, and a Residential Committee which <br /> consisted of 65 members.
