Bax520
Pleasanton, CA 94566-0802
Phone: 510484-8158
Fax: 510484-8385
From: Roberta Mundie
Firm: Mundie & Associates
3452 Sacramento Street
San Francisco, CA 94118-1914
Phone: 415-441-9640
Fax: 415-441-9683
Date: July 25, 1998
Subject: Elaboration of Housing-Related Responses
Comments:
In response to recent questions dwing the City Council review of the General Plan and
the environmental documents, I have prepared an elaboration of our initial reply to
some of the housing-related the carnments of Noreen Ambrose (June 13, 1996) and
Wilson Wendt (May 28, 1996).
The letters both express concerns about the adequaCY of Plessantonls planned
housing supply. In the Ambrose letter, it is argued:
[Comment 4] ... that the reduction in the number of housing units that could be approved
could have the direct result of reducing the regional housing supply.
[Comment 51 ... that the FEIR response fails to explain why it is not necessary to
analyze ''where the housing demand that would nqt be accommodated in
Pleasanton would be diverted to..... .
In the Wendt letter, it is argued:
[Comment 4] ... that "there is no fadual basis given to justify [the) condusion" that
the planned housing supply will be adequate for Pleasanton residents
who work outside Pleasanton.
This memorandum provides a more fully documented response to the housing supplyl
housing diversion question.
1
