Resolution No. 96-68 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Section 2: The ballot language on the advisory measure shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> Shall the Pacific Locomotive Association's excursion train, <br /> currently operating between Niles and Sunol on the first and third <br /> Sundays of the month, be permitted to extend its operations to <br /> Downtown Pleasanton with the Pleasanton Railroad Association <br /> and the Pacific Locomotive Association being solely responsible for <br /> the funding, construction and completing this project at no cost to <br /> the City of Pleasanton? <br /> <br /> Yes No <br /> <br />Section 3: Publishing Notice of Deadline for Ballot Arguments, Submission of Ballot <br /> Arguments and Impartial Analysis. <br /> <br /> a. The City Clerk shall publish or post a notice regarding the deadlines for <br /> submittal of ballot arguments concerning the measures. <br /> <br /> b. The last day for submission of direct arguments for or against the measures <br /> shall be 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 1996. <br /> <br /> c. The last day for submission of rebuttal arguments for and against the <br /> measures shall be 5:00 p.m. on August 25, 1996. <br /> <br /> d. The City Council designates Tom Pico to prepare arguments in favor of the <br /> advisory measure. <br /> <br /> e. Direct arguments shall not exceed 300 words and shall be signed by not <br /> more than five persons. <br /> <br /> f. Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words and shall be signed by not <br /> more than the same five persons. <br /> <br /> g. The City Attorney shall prepare by August 15, 1996, an impartial analysis <br /> of the measures showing the effect of the measure. <br /> <br />Section 4: The City Council hereby requests the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to <br /> order this election be conducted by Alameda County on November 5, 1996, in <br /> conjunction with the Regular Election being held within the County on that date, <br /> with the actual costs for said election to be reimbursed by the City to the County. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
