3. An officer who is assigned as an active SRT member and/or FTO will not be required to <br />fill a SRT and/or FTO position on a watch, as long as an officer with similar standing (as a <br />SRT member and/or FTO) with less seniority is available to fill the position(s). <br />4. An officer who is assigned as an active SRT member and/or FTO may not elect to <br />temporarily discontinue the assignment in order to simply obtain a more appealing watch <br />and/or days off. Should an officer desire to be removed from either assignment the officer <br />must submit a memorandum of the officers' desire to be removed from the special <br />assignment through the chain of command to the Chief of Police. <br />5. Work schedules (watch and days off) trades will not be considered once the individual has <br />made his/her selection. <br />6. ,When transfers occur from a special assignment, the individual transferred will assume the <br />schedule, watch and days off, remaining in the calendar year, of the individual who is <br />being replaced. <br />7. The Chief of Police reserves the right to change work assignment, times, and scheduled <br />days offto accommodate for training, transfers, promotions, injuries, workload, <br />emergencies, and/or termination. If such a change is necessary every effort will be made <br />so as to only affect other officers in order of reverse seniority. <br />8. For the sign-up commencing the first pay period after January 1, 1999, the following <br />Employee Performance Rating requirements well be in effect: <br />A. During the two consecutive evaluation periods prior to September 15th personnel <br />must have received no less than "Competent" overall ratings for the two evaluation <br />periods. <br />4 <br />
