Resolution No. 98-87 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />WHEREAS, LAVWMA provided to each of the member agencies an opportunity to review the <br /> EIR and the Project so that the member agencies would be fully informed about <br /> the Project and its environmental impacts prior to LAVWMA's action on the <br /> Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton City Council conducted a workshop conceming these matters on <br /> June 8, 1998; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton City Council considered these items at its regular meeting on June <br /> 16, 1998, at which time it took input from staff (SR98:162), and from the <br /> community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has weighed and balanced the pros and cons of each of the <br /> Project alternatives and finds that the Preferred Project is the best Project in that it <br /> most closely conforms to the objectives established by the LAVWMA Board <br /> which represent the culmination of months of compromises between the member <br /> agencies. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council recommends to the LAVWMA Board that it (1) certify the EIR <br /> for the LAVWMA Export Facilities Project, (2) approve the Preferred Project and <br /> appropriate mitigation measures as identified in the EIR and (3) adopt appropriate <br /> findings, including a statement of overriding considerations. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Pleasanton City Council representatives to the LAVWMA Board are directed <br /> to vote as provided in Section 1. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
