Resolution No. 98-84 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan amendments and project will <br /> have anticipated social, economic and other benefits which outweigh the <br /> unavoidable environmental impacts, as set forth in the Statement of Overriding <br /> Considerations, attached as Exhibit C; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has considered project altematives and finds them less desirable <br /> than the proposed General Plan amendments, as set forth in the Statement of <br /> Overriding Considerations, attached as Exhibit C; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan amendments are consistent <br /> with the goals and policies of the General Plan. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the General Plan in <br /> four areas. (1) replacement of 20 acres of Parks and Recreation (golf) with 20 <br /> acres of Low Density Residential (LDR) on the General Plan Map; (2) replacement <br /> of 40 acres of Public Health and Safety/Wildlands Overlay with 20 acres of Parks <br /> and Recreation (golf) on the General Plan Map to accommodate a portion of the <br /> Golf Course; (3) extension of a collector street ("Bypass Road") through the <br /> Spotorno Upper Valley south to the Golf Course on the General Plan Map; and <br /> (4) modification of the Land Use Element text on page II-8 and General Plan Map <br /> regarding housing density in the Greater Happy Valley Area, as shown on the <br /> attached Exhibit A. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
