CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. 98-04

RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF JANET
BURTON FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AS FILED
UNDER CASE UP-97-96

WHEREAS, Janet Burton has applied for conditional use permit approval to establish a
secondary unit within the existing 800 square foot dwelling located at 570
Sycamore Road; and

WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-A (Planned Unit Development - Agriculture)
District; and

WHEREAS, the City Council received the Planning Commission's recommendation for
approval of the conditional use permit; and

WHEREAS, a public heating was held before the City Council on January 20, 1998, at which
time all pertinent testimony and documents were reviewed; and

WHEREAS, the City Council made the following conditional use permit findings:

A. The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the
objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.

The request to establish a detached secondary unit on the site conforms
with the objectives and purposes of the zoning ordinance. A secondary unit
is considered to be a single-family use which is allowed in the PUD-A
District. The secondary unit would be consistent with the rural/agricultural
character of the area because farm employee housing and secondary units
already exist in the area.
