ATTACHMENT A <br /> <br /> DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />APPEAL: <br /> <br /> The final level for written reprimands, suspensions, <br /> terminations, or review of the Police Chief's decision <br /> regarding the displinary review process. An informal review <br /> conducted by the City Manager, or the Manager's designee, at <br /> which an operator may present evidence or witnesses to show <br /> that an action taken by the Police Chief was improper, or to <br /> mitigate the action taken. <br /> <br />BASE SERVICES: <br /> <br /> Any service or tow which is performed when the vehicle <br /> operator or agent is present and the vehicle is not stored at <br /> the direction of an officer. <br /> <br />ENROLLMENT PERIOD: <br /> <br /> The period of time when a tow company may submit an <br /> application for inclusion on the rotation tow list. The <br /> enrollment period may be continuous throughout the year, but <br /> must be at least once annually. The enrollment period will be <br /> open at least 30 days once a year as determined by the Police <br /> Department. <br /> <br />LOAD SALVAGE OPERATIONS: <br /> <br /> AnV operation involving the recovery of a load which has been <br /> spilled, or the off-loading and reloading of a load from an <br /> overturned vehicle performed in order to upright the vehicle. <br /> This will be limited to operations involving Class B, C, and <br /> D tow trucks. <br /> <br />NOTICE: <br /> <br /> All notices relating to this Agreement shall be in writing and <br /> delivered to the other party in person, via FAX, 'or by US <br /> mail. <br /> <br />OPERATOR: <br /> <br /> A tow service which has been issued a Letter of Authorization, <br /> has signed the Tow Service Agreement, and is approved to <br /> receive police referred calls. The term "operator" refers to <br /> the company, its owners, and its managers who have authority <br /> to enter into an Agreement with the Police Department for <br /> towing services and to conduct business in accordance with the <br /> terms of this Agreement, and its employees. <br /> <br /> -A1- <br /> <br /> <br />
