7_ MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Staff Response to Previous Matters Initiated <br />Ms_ Decker wished to respond to Chairperson Maas' questions regarding a fence and a house <br />construction toward the south area- A PUD Minor Modification was performed to allow the <br />construction of an eight-foot high wall. <br />Ms. Decker noted that the house on the ridge at the end of Castlewood Drive was located within <br />Alameda County jurisdiction- A preliminary review on the project was performed, and when the <br />Public Works Department took the pre-annexation agreetrtent to the C7ity Council in July 2004, <br />Council decided not to require a design rcvicw_ <br />325 Rav Street <br />Commissioner Fox noted that green and white striped awnings had been installed at this address, <br />instead of solid-color awnings- Ms_ Decker advised that those awnings were not approved by <br />staff and that staff is discussing the preferred color with the owner. Stali~would prefer either a <br />burgundy or dark green awning- <br />Roof Adjacent to McDonal d's Restaurant <br />C'on~nzissioner Roberts noted that the roof on the building adjacent to McDonald's Kastaurant <br />was hideous. <br />Commissioner Fox believed it was originally supposed to be designed lihc the roof of the <br />Hacienda School and recalled that Larry Cannon had done a peer review- She believed the <br />Commission had approved the roof with an opening- <br />8_ MAT'T'ERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION <br />a. Future Planning Calendar <br />Ms. Decker noted that she would advise the Commission of the next joint meeting. <br />b. Actions of the City Council <br />There were none. <br />c. Actions of the Zoning Administrator <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Roberts whether Shaklee was breaking up the <br />property, Ms_ Dc=eker coniirnied that was the case and that a parcel inap had been approved they <br />were repositioning their properties to segregate their utilities. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES November 1 6, 2005 Page 22 of 23 <br /> <br />
