Zoning for the property is YUD-CG Planned Unit Development <br />Cotnmercial~ District. <br />Ms_ Decker summarized. the staff report aizd described the history and scope of this <br />project. She displayed a comparison of the existing and proposed signage. She noted <br />that Baker's Square and Jay's Auto Canter have signage of the same height or lass, and <br />McDonal d's Restaurant has a higher signage because it its freeway frontage_ Sta££1-tad <br />received interested calls from City businesses to see how this application was resolved_ <br />Staff recommended that the Planning Commission deny this request, but supported any <br />Commission's desire to redirect the applicant <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Blank regarding whether the proposed sign <br />would have freeway visibility, Ms_ Decker replied that staff did not have such a photo <br />- simulation. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES May I I, 2005 Page 13 of 1G <br />
