THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED_ <br />Mr. Pavan noted that i£the applicant would like to use asphalt curbs inside the parking <br />lot, staff would Fnd that acceptable. <br />Commissioner Roberts moved to make the required conditional use findings as <br />listed in the staff report and to approve PCUP-130/PDR-419 as recommended in the <br />staff report with the following modifications. <br />1_ Revise Condition No_ 16 to indicate that the six-inch vertical concrete curbs <br />shall be installed between the paved and landscaped areas along the Old <br />Santa Rita Road project frontage and that asphalt curbs may be used on the <br />interior areas of the storage lot to the satisfaction of the City Engineer; <br />2_ The applicant will work with staff with respect to the design of the bioswale_ <br />Commissioner Slank seconded the motiou_ <br />ROLL CALL VOTE= <br />AYES: Commissioners Arkin, Black, Fox, Maas, and Roberts. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />RECUSED= None. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Resolution No. PC-2005-02 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br />The Plar~iiing Commission recessed for a break at 8:40 p.m. <br />Chairperson Maas reconvened the meeting at 8:46 p.m_ <br />c_ PDR-355, James Bvrd <br />Application to modify a previously approved design review application to <br />demolish portions of the existing building at 328 St. Mary Street, to remodel the <br />remaining portions, and to construct additions totaling approximately 700 square <br />feet in area. Zoning for the property is <C-CJ Central Commercial, Downtown <br />Revitalization, Core Area Overlay District. <br />Mr_ Pavan summarized the staff report and described the proposed design changes, which <br />were supported by staff as being consistent with the themes of the previous Planning <br />Commission approval. A letter of opposition was received from Karl and Brenda Sauter, <br />citing issues of windows, parking, increases in the outside areas; the letter was provided. <br />to Mr. Byrd for his review. Staff recommended approval of this item_ <br />Commissioner Arkin agreed with Condition No. 1 , which states: "Any changes to the <br />plan that are visible from public view shall require public review and approval by the <br />-- Planning Commission."
