PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO_ PC-2005-19 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PHASE I OF THE APPLICATION OF ST_ CLARE'S <br />EPISCOPAL CJHURCH FOR DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL AND CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT, AS FILED LTNDER CASE YI~R-391/YCUP-1 18 <br />WHEREAS, St. Clare's Episcopal Church has applied for design review approval and <br />conditional use permit Ibr an existing Church facility located at 3350 Hopyard <br />Road to allow a thx-ee-phased master expansion plan and other site improvements <br />as follows- (1) a sanctuary and multi-purpose room extension of approximately <br />4,970 square feet; ~2~ a new sanctuary of approximately 9,250 square feet acid the <br />expansion of the existing parking lot; and (3J a new administrative office of <br />approximately 5,000 square feet; aad <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is RM-2,500 (Multiple-Family Residential) District- and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of May 1 1, 2005, the Plat~ning ComLr~ission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt Isom the requirements of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following Fndings- <br />The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the <br />o bj actives of the zoning ordinatzce and the purpose of the district in which <br />the site is located. <br />The master expansion plan has been designed to minimize impacts to the nearby <br />residential properties. As conditioned, the proposed master expansion plan would <br />be cotzsistant with the intont of the zoning coda- The existing Church operation <br />bas generally bean conzp:aLi blc with the Burro undin~ neighborhood, and the <br />expansion will continue to coir~plement the neigh borhood_ The applicants will <br />also be required to mitigate any future nuisances which may occur as a result of <br />the proposed expansion. Therefore, the first Iinding can be made. <br />
