Construction Activities <br />39. All. initial site improvements and house construction activities shall be limited to the <br />hours of 8:00 a_m_ to 5:00 p_m_, Monday through Friday_ All construction equipment <br />must meet Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) noise standards and shall be equipped <br />with muffling devices. <br />40. At no time shall can~pers, trailers, motor homes, or any other vehicle be used as living or <br />sleeping quarters on the construction site_ All such vehicles shall be rcnioved from the <br />site at the end of each workday. <br />41 _ Portable toilets used during construction shall be kept as far as possible ti-om existing <br />residences and. shall be emptied on a regular basis as necessary to prevent odor. <br />42. Dust and mud shall be contained within the boundaries of the property during times of <br />construction _ <br />43. No construction materials shall be stored. within the public right-o£-way_ <br />44. The project developer is responsible for ensuring that no debris or construction scrap <br />material is placed on any adjoining lot, open space area, or street, and that any such <br />material stored on the site shall be completely removed and the site cleaned prior to <br />occupancy. <br />Best Management Practices <br />45. The project developer shall submit a construction Best Managcinent Practice ~BMP~ <br />program for review and approval by the Planning Director prior to issuance of any <br />building and/or grading permits. These BMPs shall be implemented by the general <br />contractor and all subcontractors and suppliers of materials and equipment. Construction <br />site clean-up and control of construction debris also shall be addressed in this program. <br />Failure to comply with the approved construction BMP may result in the issuance of <br />correction notices, citations, or a project stop work order. <br />46. The project developer is responsible for implementing the following measures during all <br />construction phases of the subject project: <br />a. Mather all construction debris on a regular basis and place it in a dunzpster or <br />other container which is emptied or removed on a weekly basis. When <br />appropriate, use tarps on the ground to collect fallen debris or splatters that could <br />contribute to storm water pollution. <br />b_ Remove all dirt, gravel, rubbish, refuse, and green. waste from the street <br />pavement, and. storm drains adjoining the project site. During wet weather avoid <br />driving vehicles off paved areas and avoid other work in unpaved areas when <br />possible. <br />6 <br />
