<br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Pit p- ~c;- <br />[Rl~(Q;reo~~[D' <br /> <br />AUG 2 ::: 2005 <br />-';ITY OF PLEASANTON <br />PLANNING DEPT. <br /> <br />RicI3Plcote'D <br /> <br />Date: August 22, 2005 <br /> <br />5276 Genovesio Drive <br />Pleasanton, CA 94588 <br />Tel 9254160291 <br />ATIACHMENT 7 <br /> <br />;{I-Il8IT F <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton, <br />Planning & Community Development, <br />200 Old Bemal Ave, <br />Pleasanton, CA 94566 <br /> <br />Dear SirlMadam, <br /> <br />Re: Appeal to City Council for denial of Application for a Large Family Daycare by Planning <br />Commission during hearing dated August 10, 2005. <br /> <br />We would like to appeal to the decision of the planning commission denying out application for large <br />daycare for following broad reasons: <br /> <br />1) We feel that our property meets all the criteria for Large Daycare as per State of California. <br />2) We do not violate any City regulations goveming Large Daycares. <br />3) We have agreed to all the conditions put forward by planning department. <br />4) Recently a permit has been issued by City to one of the Duplex homes on Stone Pointe Way. <br />5) Quite a few daycares in Pleasanton & elsewhere in California are on private street & hence we <br />feel that rejecting daycare because city cannot regulate traffic on private streets is not appropriate <br />& not in line with State's policy towards child care. <br />6) Quite a few points discussed during the hearing dated 8/1012005 are not addressed in the <br />minutes. <br />7) Last but not least; before selecting this residential zone and making an offer on this $800K <br />property at 5276 Genovesio Drive, we had approached Planning Department & got its consent. <br />We were informed that we are .OK" with the conditional use of the property as Large Daycare. <br />8) We will submit our detailed letter later after studying the reasons & grounds on which our <br />application is denied. <br /> <br />As the city of Pleasanton is witnessing remarkable economic growth, the need for quality family daycare <br />facilities will always exist and grow. Our house is opposite PeopleSoft (now Oracle), it is very close to <br />other companies like Robert Half International, Hacienda Business Park, Ross, Businesses on Stoneridge <br />Drive, W. Las Positas Blvd., Gibraltar Drive, Sybase, Safeway etc... <br /> <br />I sincerely feel that my proposed Large Family Daycare facility is justified & meets required qualifying <br />criteria of City of Pleasanton, Fire Department & DSS.
