<br /> <br />4K <br /> <br />\.. <br /> <br />pLEASANTONo <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />January 17, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW OF <br />BIDS AND AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR <br />SANTOS RANCH ROAD PUMP STATIONS AND WATER <br />FACILITIES UPGRADE, PROJECT NO. 991035 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of January 17,2006: <br /> <br />1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> <br />2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the <br />subject project to the lowest responsible bidder, McGuire and Hester <br />of Oakland, California, for a low bid of $1,881,450. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above contract. <br /> <br />4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute <br />contract change orders for a contingency amount not-to-exceed <br />$225,000 (12%) for necessary related project work. <br /> <br />5. Authorize a fund transfer of $400,000 from Santos Ranch, Pleasanton <br />Ridge and Kilkare Water Transmission Reserve, ClP No. 011014 to <br />Santos Ranch Pump Station and Water Facilities, ClP No. 991035. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending <br />award of the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, <br />McGuire and Hester, in the amount of $1,881,450. The Santos Ranch <br />Pump Station Project (ClP No. 991035) includes the reconstruction of <br />three water-booster pumping stations located along Santos Ranch Road <br /> <br />SR 06:006 <br />Page I of5 <br />
