<br /> <br />4M <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />;nUl _, II <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />January 17,2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />SECOND READING OF AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE <br />RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING ORDINANCE, AND THE <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTIONS ESTABLISHING FOUR-HOUR <br />PARKING AND RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING ZONES ALONG <br />THE EAST SIDE OF SANTA RITA FRONTAGE ROAD FROM <br />ALISAL SCHOOL PARKING LOT EXIT TO ALVARADO STREET <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions at the <br />meeting of January 17,2006: <br /> <br />1. Adopt the ordinance to modify the current City of Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code for Residential Permit Parking. The modification to <br />the Code will eliminate the time of day, day of week, and time of <br />year restrictions. <br /> <br />2. Adopt a resolution to establish a four-hour parking zone on the east <br />side of Santa Rita Road from the Alisal Elementary School exit <br />driveway and extend to Alvarado Street. <br /> <br />3. Adopt a resolution to establish a residential permit parking zone on <br />the east side of Santa Rita Road from the Alisal Elementary School <br />exit driveway and extending to Alvarado Street. This Permit Parking <br />Zone shall exempt the residents within the zone from the 4-hour <br />parking zone restriction. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Residents with homes along the Santa Rita Frontage Road have been <br />experiencing a significant increase in the parking of vehicles for sale for <br />extended periods of time. At the November I, 2005, City Council <br />meeting, this matter was heard and a decision was made to install "four- <br />hour parking" signs from Francisco Street to Alvarado Street.
