<br /> <br />4K <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />January 3, 2006 <br />Parks and Community Services <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED TERMS AND ADDITION OF <br />AN ALTERNATE MEMBER FOR THE TRAILS AD HOC <br />COMMITTEE <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />That the City Council approve the follo~ing: <br /> <br />(1) Exclude the follo~ing Trails Ad Hoc Committee positions from term <br />limitations: Parks and Recreation Commissioner/Committee <br />Chairperson, Police Department representative, Youth Commission <br />representative, and staff representatives from Zone 7 Water Agency <br />and East Bay Regional Park District; <br />(2) Establish staggered terms for existing Committee Members as <br />outlined in the staff report; <br />(3) Approve an additional Community-at-Large position to serve as an <br />Altemate Member, ~ith the position to be filled at the next round of <br />appointments (September 2006)0 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff concurs ~ith the recommendations of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commissiono <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />In September 2003, the City Council approved the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission's recommended appointments to the ne~ Trails Ad Hoc <br />Committee 0 No term requirements ~ere established, as it ~as thought that <br />the Committee ~ould meet "~hen needed" to address trail-related issueso <br />The Committee has been meeting on a monthly basis, ho~ever, prompting <br />the Commission to consider implementing term limits for the various <br /> <br />SR 06:010 <br />Page 1 <br />
