Commissioner Maas would like to see a different type of traffic study, and noted that she <br />had been caught in the pick-up traf£ic_ She was concerned about the safety issue_ She <br />would like the traffic study to be performed in September, once school was back in <br />session_ She recommended that the application be continued until the traffic study could <br />be performed_ <br />Commissioner Roberts noted that the applicant would need the lead time to be able to <br />enroll the additional students, and noted that this application was timed correctly for that <br />purpose_ <br />Commissioner Sullivan felt that Amador High School is the problem, not Carden West_ <br />Mr_ Iserson did not know whether a traffic study could do very much_ The City was <br />aware of the problem, and he noted that it was a very small period of time_ While the City <br />did not have direct control over the schools, staff could work with them and ask them to <br />adjust their dismissal times_ He noted that staff already had the trip and traffic data, and <br />was aware of the cause_ He did not believe that an additional traffic study would yield <br />any additional data_ <br />Commissioner Roberts suggested that the applicant examine changing the school times to <br />be significantly different from the public schools_ <br />Commissioner Maas was not convinced that the expansion would not have an effect_ <br />Chairperson Arkin requested that staff include a memo in the file that reflected the <br />applicant's statements that there would be no more expansion at this site_ Mr_ Iserson <br />noted that could be done_ <br />Commissioncr Robots moved to approve PCUP-83 as COIId1tlOIICd lII the staff <br />report_ <br />Commissioner SullivaII seconded the motion. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES= Commissioners Arkin, Kameny, Roberts, and Sullivan <br />NOES= Commissioner Maas <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ABSENT= None <br />Resolution No_ PC-2003-20 was entered and adopted as motioned_ <br />d_ PUD-22.
