Commissioner Sullivan noted that if the Youth Commission wanted these events, he <br />believed that it was reasonable to ask the members to attend the dances and make a report <br />regarding its implementation- <br />Chairperson Arkin advised that he was not in favor of that condition, but would support <br />the motion- He did not wish for the Commission to micromanage the event <br />Commissioner Roberts believed that the kids should be responsible for follow-up <br />regarding this event_ <br />Commissioner Maas moved to approve PCLTP-78, with the condition that a <br />minimum of two licensed security guards monitor the exterior of the building, and <br />that Masses staff will supervise the interior of the building- The Youth Commission <br />would be asked to provide afollow-up report to the Planning Commission at the end <br />of the summer dances_ <br />Commissioner Roberts seconded the motion_ <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Arkin, Maas, Roberts, and Sullivan <br />NOES: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ABSENT: Commissioners Kameny and Sedlak <br />Resolution No_ PC-2003-14 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br />The Planning Commission recessed for a break at 8:38 p.m. <br />Chairperson Arkin reconvened the meeting at 8:44 p_m_ <br />c_ PRZ-19, Applicanto Lisa Schibler/City of Pleasanton <br />Application to amend Chapter 18.84 Site, Yard, Bulk, Usable Open Space, and <br />Landscaping Regulations, of Title 1 8 ~Zoning~, of the Pleasanton Municipal <br />Code to modify the current 23-foot front yard setback standard to a minimum of <br />20 feet where the original structure was legally built with a 20-foot front yard <br />setback. The code amendment would apply to various R-1 single-family <br />residential zoned properties and properties zoned PUD which are subject to the <br />development standards of the R-1 district of the Pleasanton Municipal Code that <br />meet the aforementioned criteria. <br />Jerry Iserson presented the staff report- Staff believed that this amendment would be <br />beneficial and would provide more flexibility to homeowners. In addition, the <br />amendment would avoid the need for variances that would be diff cult to approve, and <br />would encourage people to upgrade their homes. Staff recommended that the Planning <br />Commission make a recommendation to City Council to adopt the G'ode change. <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br />There were no speakers. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES April 23, 2003 Page 9 <br />
