City Hall Office Building 8s Civic Center Site Improvements Reserve <br />Maas: 4 <br />Roberts- 5 <br />Arkin: 3 <br />Kamenyc 5 <br />Sullivan. 3 <br />S edlakc O <br />Commissioner Roberts noted that Deborah Acosta McKeehan advised that nowhere else <br />downtown were temporary buildings allowed. <br />Mr_ Bocian advised that the buildings were intended for Park 8e. Rec, Information Services, <br />and the Building Inspectors- He noted that the project did not anticipate fixing up the <br />buildings, per se, but it anticipated atwo-phased approach. Phase I is to do a Civic Center <br />Site Master Plan, including several components- expansion of the library, building a City <br />Hall offce building to replace one or more buildings on the site, to address parking, and to <br />address a pedestrian element for the Civic Center. Fie anticipated there a portion of the site <br />would be allocated to a future use. If City Council ultimately approves staff design, staff <br />had no intention of building aDublin-type City Hall. Staff s goal is to build a functional <br />office building that can take the place of some of the modular buildings and other seriously <br />deficient buildings such as 157 Main Street_ <br />Mr_ Bocian noted the 157 Main Street and the modular buildings would probably be <br />eliminated, but the main Civic Center building would be retained. <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Sullivan, Mr_ Bocian replied that a conceptual <br />plan had not been created, but a number of workshops had been held.
