8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION <br />a. Future Planning Calendar <br />Chairperson Arkin advised that residents near the Elder Care project had told him that the <br />project was proceeding without regard to their concerns. Mr. Swift advised that he had. not <br />heard from Elder Care Alliance since December 30, 2003_ <br />In response to an inquiry by G'ommissioner Sullivan, Mr. Iserson replied that Greenbri ar <br />Homes was starting an EIR and was hiring a consultant. <br />Mr. Swift noted that a neighborhood workshop was generally conducted with this type of <br />project once a consultant was hired. <br />Commissioner Sullivan inquired regarding the status of PCUP-72 <Kim Duck Kid, for an <br />application to serve alcoholic beverages and karaoke entertainment until 2:00 a.m. He <br />inquired whether it would be another Marque situation. Mr. Iserson did not believe it was <br />the same situation, and added that it was small family restaurant seeking to increase <br />revenue. He noted that staff had concerns about noise, hours of operation, and the adjacent <br />residential uses. Staff was seeking to mitigate those impacts. <br />b. Actions of the Zoning Administrator <br />There were none. <br />9_ COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were none. <br />10_ REFERRALS <br />There were none_ <br />11_ MATTERS FOR COM MiSSION•S INFORMATION <br />Mr. Iserson asked the Commission if they wished to have a work session on geotechnical <br />issues, to be presented by engineers. He believed it would be helpful to the Commission <br />before several technically complex projects were brought before theirs. The Commissioners <br />concurred, and wished to participate in that workshop. <br />Chairperson Arkin suggested including it on a light agenda, rather than scheduling a <br />separate meeting. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES February 12, 2003 Page 22 <br />
