Section 1. Introduction <br /> 1.1 Purpose of the Plan <br /> This plan sets forth the compensation - related personnel policies applicable to the <br /> City's management and confidential employees. <br /> 1.2 Preparation of the Plan <br /> The City Manager shall be responsible for the preparation of the plan. The City <br /> Manager shall submit the plan to the City Council for their approval. <br /> Section 2. Management and Confidential Classifications <br /> The management and confidential classifications covered by this compensation plan <br /> are listed in Appendices A and B — Management Control Points and Confidential <br /> Control Points, respectively. All classifications covered by this compensation plan are <br /> employed on an "at will" basis and serve at the pleasure of the City Manager. <br /> Section 3. Salaries <br /> 3.1 Plan Effective Date <br /> Effective the first full pay period of September 2005 the control points for all <br /> management and confidential classifications are as reflected in Appendix A and <br /> Appendix B. <br /> The administration of management and confidential salaries shall be in accordance <br /> with the provisions of the Management and Confidential Base Salary Plan attached as <br /> Appendix C. <br /> 3.2 Salary Setting Promotion <br /> When a management or confidential employee is promoted he /she shall be assigned a <br /> salary within their new classification salary grade that is at least five percent above the <br /> salary held in the former classification. Incentive pay the employee was receiving in <br /> his /her former classification, but will be losing in the promoted classification, will be <br /> taken into consideration when calculating the minimum five percent increase. <br /> Page 2 of 31 <br />
