<br /> Civic Arts Category: <br /> Maximum Funding Request - $7,500*; total available funding $40,000 <br /> *Organizations may submit applications for different projects, but shall not be awarded more <br /> than $7,500 in the aggregate in any grant year. <br /> Priority - Cultural and artistic projects that build community, provide public education in the <br /> arts, create increased diversity, and provide technical assistance to increase self-sufficiency. <br /> Human Services Category: <br /> Maximum Funding Request - $20,000; total available funding $130,000 <br /> Priority - Programs that promote a healthy community, with emphasis on projects that address <br /> service network gaps and shortcomings as identified in the Tri-Valley Human Services Needs <br /> Assessment (May, 2003). <br /> Youth Category: <br /> Maximum Funding Request - $7,500*; total available funding $20,000 <br /> *Organizations may submit applications for different projects, but shall not be awarded more <br /> than $7,500 in the aggregate in any grant year. <br /> Priority - Programs designed to encourage and promote services that benefit the Pleasanton <br /> youth community. <br /> Environmental Category: <br /> Newly proposed for the upcoming FY 2006/07 grant process is an Environmental Category. In <br /> recent years, there has been strong support for environmental programs in the community and, <br /> more specifically, the schools. In order to accommodate potential requests for funds (e.g. <br /> recycling education and reuse programs) and to provide a fair process, it is proposed that the <br /> City Grant process include an Environmental Category. Staff recommends allocating funds <br /> from the City's Measure D Recycling and Waste Management Fund for this purpose. At this <br /> time staff is determining an appropriate amount, based on available funds, to submit for City <br /> Council consideration.
